About Luxe Copilot
Luxe Copilot is an independent price-decision layer for luxury buyers. We do not transact, we do not hold inventory, and we do not optimize for any retailer. We answer two questions buyers already ask before they check out: am I overpaying? and can I resell this?
What we ship
- · Decision API — FastAPI on managed Postgres. Five endpoints (verdict, fair price, resale score, future value, wardrobe ROI) with public docs at luxecopilot.com/en/docs.
- · Catalog — 212 high-liquidity SKUs across 32 brands (including 150 iconic items across handbags, SLG, footwear, watches), each with field-level provenance badges. Every numeric value tells the user whether it came from a real sample, a manual seed, an AI synthesis, or is intentionally null.
- · Cross-channel observation — Rolling new-retail and resale price observations across 8 authorized channels, P30/P50/P80 distribution per SKU, 3-year forecast band ±15%.
- · Surface — Web (this site), iOS app, Chrome extension (verdict card on retailer product pages), WeChat mini-program (photo → verdict + share card).
Editorial approach
We publish data-driven editorials at /en/journal and /journal (Chinese). Every article carries an explicit observation window, sample size, and methodology note. We do not run sponsored content, we do not accept payment for editorial placement, and we annotate any affiliate-routed product mentions with a disclosure line. AI is used for translation and SKU normalization — never for price truth.
How we make money
Three layers, in priority order:
- Affiliate routing — When a buyer decides to purchase, we route via standard affiliate links to authorized retailers (Farfetch, Net-a-Porter, Mytheresa, Saks, Bergdorf Goodman, eBay, etc.). We disclose this on every comparison page. We do not modify retailer pricing.
- Subscription (Pro / Collector) — Optional consumer plans for power users (price alerts, wardrobe ROI history, resale liquidity dashboard). Most readers never need these.
- B2B intelligence — Licensed API access for resale houses, concierge services, authentication partners. Standard SaaS contract.
Compliance posture
We comply with PIPL (China), GDPR (EU), CCPA / CPRA (California), and FTC affiliate-disclosure guidelines. We do not do individualized price manipulation (“surveillance pricing”) — price observations are population-level, not user-targeted. We publish our affiliate disclosure at /terms and our privacy policy at /privacy. Data-subject requests go to privacy@luxecopilot.com.
What we are not
- · Not a marketplace. We do not list, we do not custody inventory.
- · Not an authentication service. We surface risk flags and route to authorized authenticators (Entrupy, third-party labs, brand-side service); we never issue a final authentication verdict.
- · Not a cashback site, not a coupon site, not a loyalty program. We are a comparison-shopping editorial publisher.
- · Not affiliated with any brand or retailer mentioned on the site.
Methodology
Verdicts use structured observation windows and P10 / P50 / P90 distributions, not LLM inference for price truth. New-retail prices come from authorized retailer feeds and brand boutique observation; resale prices come from 7+ marketplaces with deduplication and channel weighting; FX is monthly mean. Same-item matching uses a SKU graph plus visual similarity scoring (a two-channel pipeline). All code-level methodology is documented in the public API spec linked above and at /en/methodology. Each Journal article repeats the relevant window and sample size inline — we do not hide weak data.
Team
Founder Wan Meng (Tsinghua CS / Fudan MBA in progress). Previously 6 years at Alibaba and Tencent on recommendation systems and ad ranking, including production experiments driving 8-figure daily GMV. Personal luxury buyer (Hermès / AP client). The project started after watching two friends overpay during the 2022 grey-market crash because of pure information asymmetry — that asymmetry is what we are trying to close.
Editorial content is reviewed by the founder before publication. Each Journal article carries a "Last reviewed" date and a link back to /en/methodology. We are a small team (founder-led, 2026 Q3 MVP launch); we will name additional reviewers as they are hired.
Validation in progress
Q2–Q3 2026: 30 long-form user interviews segmented across five ICPs (watch collectors, Hermès quota buyers, Hainan duty-free buyers, business-trip buyers, premium-gift buyers), surveyed via Xiaohongshu and Tencent Survey to validate price-decision pain. Raw data, rejection reasons, and willingness-to-pay distributions will be published in Journal.
